Edouard Michelin Auditorium - Alliance Francaise of Madras

The Alliance Française of Madras in association with Indianostrum Theatre, Pondicherry

presents a theatre workshop entitled

(by Jean-Jacques Lemêtre of the Théâtre du Soleil, Paris)

Registrations open from :

11th Dec – 19th Dec 2015 & 2nd Jan – 23rd Jan 2016

The workshop is open to actors, dancers, singers and musicians, i.e. to anyone who is interested in exploring, discovering and experimenting with the human body’s capacity for sound. Both individual and collective exercises will be conducted leading to a process of musical elaboration that will draw on the creative experience of Jean-Jacques Lemetre in his work with the Théâtre du Soleil. Participants will be encouraged to go beyond the technique and through dissociation and disharmony, examine the relationship of the artist with his environment. This method calls for a re-learning of the body’s rhythm and the role of music in theatre.

We will be working without musical instruments, in order to fully explore the rhythmic, melodic and harmonic potential of our bodies through movement, breath and speech patterns.

Interested candidates may register directly with Alliance Française of Madras, by email ([email protected]) or by phone (044 – 2827 9803)

The fees of the workshop is Rs.3438 (inclusive of taxes)
