French Classes

The Alliance Française Of Madras offers a wide range of French courses open to people of all ages, starting from 11, for beginners’ (level 1) to advanced (level 5) levels, from Monday to Sunday through the year. Whatever your motivation (professional, academic, personal) and your availability, you will find a tailor-made course: General French (extensive or intensive), French for specific purposes, French for teens, One-to-one courses, Corporate courses and Cross cultural training.

Our teaching approach, based on the « action approach » as defined in the  Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR), focuses not only on the acquisition of knowledge (grammar, vocabulary, phonetics), of know-how (introduce oneself, purchase an item, order a meal, etc.) but also the ability to use these correctly in practical real-life situations.

The teaching staff of the Alliance Française of Madras comprises around thirty trained and experienced teachers, selected through a rigorous process so as to ensure our students optimal teaching quality.

Classes are held in the heart of Chennai (Nungambakkam) in comfortable, air-conditioned rooms fitted with Smart Boards. You can also learn French in our Adyar (Chennai) Branch or in one of our three Branches in  Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy). To help you with your studies, a Library -cum- Media and Resource Centre is at your disposal, as well as a cafeteria for you to unwind  outside class hours.

You may wish to validate your level of French and get it recognized the world over. Well, the Alliance Française of Madras is the only examination centre in Chennai (and in Tamil Nadu) authorized to hold the official French language examinations certified by the French National Education Ministry (DELF DALF, DELF Junior and DELF PRO) and by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TEF and TEFaQ).
