Paying tribute to the art of animation, the last edition of the festival showcased over 130 films from across India, France, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Croatia, Iran and a host of other countries. A series of workshops, engaging post screening discussions, and Q&A sessions are also part of the festival’s itinerary that aims to showcase innovations within the genre, as well as provide a platform for up and coming animation artists.
Last year’s festivities featured master classes with prominent Indian animation artists like Gitanjali Rao (Printed Rainbow/True Love Story) and international pioneers like Thomas Meyer-Hermann (studio FilmBilder/Jury Member (Ottawa and Stuttgart International Animation Film Festival). The event showcased a finely curated selection of animations that touched on globally relevant topics of identity, sexuality, environment, geo-politics, anthropology, technology and much more, and also featured a host of national and international award winning films – offering audiences a lineup of truly cutting edge, forward thinking works of art.
