Over the past few years, the Alliance Française of Madras has offered budding artists among its students an opportunity to perform during the Fête de la Musique festival. This year, the AFM will do it again on June 17, in the first of several concerts featuring local students. In the first part of the event, AFM students will present a mix of French, Indian and English songs spanning a wide range of styles. Some of their teachers will also join in the fun and perform short pieces prepared for the occasion.
For the second part of the concert, we are very excited to welcome back The Beta Funktion, a Chennai-based 4-man group focusing on one thing – music pulsing with energy. The band’s musical signature lies on a solid foundation of hard rock – to which elements of other genres are added. Given the great response to their 2013 performance we decided to invite them back to set the stage on fire!
